Alison Brown

Background

Alison is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and PhD Candidate at the University of Newcastle and Hunter New England Population Health. Her PhD focusses on the prevention of childhood obesity through the implementation and evaluation of an m-health healthy lunchbox program for primary school children. Alison is passionate about public health nutrition and the prevention of chronic disease.

In 2017, Alison completed a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honors Class 1) at the University of Newcastle. Prior to this, in 2011, she completed a Bachelor of Clinical Science at Charles Sturt University.

Research Interest

Alison’s research interests currently focus on the application of digital m-health interventions in an effort to contribute to behaviour change, particularly in relation to children. Alison has a keen interest in implementation science and knowledge translation, particularly in the area of public health nutrition.
