Associate Professor Serene Yoong

Background

Dr Serene Yoong is a Heart Foundation Future Leader fellow, and Accredited Practising Dietitian with a significant track record in undertaking implementation science trials and review in community-based settings with a focus on early childhood education and care sectors. She has collaborated with leading health agencies internationally including the World Health Organisation, the Cochrane Collaboration and the World Bank. She is on the expert committee for the review of the Australian Dietary Guideline, a steering member of the Collaboration for Enhanced Research Impact (CERI), a joint initiative between The Australian Prevention Partnership Centre and over 10 NHMRC CREs and is co-lead for a community of practice in implementation science for this group.

Research Interest

Dr Yoong’s research interests to date have focused on developing effective, scalable interventions to reduce preventable risk factors for chronic diseases, including technology based and low intensity, high yield strategies.
