What we do

Chronic disease is responsible for ~80% of premature deaths in Australia and costs more than $20 billion [1]. Targeting risk factors during the time that health behaviours are developed (childhood and adolescence) is critical to preventing the development of chronic disease.

Our focus is therefore effective and cost-effective evidence-based health promotion programs in schools across the following priority areas:

  • Vaping prevention and cessation
  • Physical activity enabling school uniforms
  • Physical activity programs
  • Healthy canteens
  • Mobile phone restrictions

How we do our work

Working in partnership we will generate evidence and guidance to support chronic disease prevention and health promotion efforts nationally.
