NCOIS is delighted to host Dr Elaine Toomey to present on the ‘Development of a video-based evidence synthesis knowledge translation resource: Drawing on a user-centred design approach’ on Monday, 20th November 2023 from 10.00AM -11.00AM.
Dr Toomey’s presentation will focus on the application of user-centred design approaches to develop a knowledge translation (KT) video resource to explain evidence synthesis to a public audience – providing an example of the systematic development of a KT resource with limited resources.

More about Dr Elaine Toomey
Dr Toomey is a Lecturer in Evidence Based Healthcare at the University of Galway. She is also a Health Research Board ‘Applying Research into Policy and Practice’ Research Fellow. Dr Toomey is a Cochrane Ireland/Evidence Synthesis Ireland Research Associate and a member of both the Centre for Health Research Methods and the Health Behaviour Change Research Group in the University of Galway. She has specific methodological expertise in evidence synthesis, implementation science/knowledge translation, process evaluation, and fidelity/adaptation of behaviour change interventions.
